The Christian County Library is premiering several new databases in February, making it more convenient for Christian County residents to use library-quality resources from their home computers.
In an exciting development for job seekers, Optimal Resume software is now available to all cardholders in the Christian County Library system.

Optimal Resume allows users to create the full spectrum of career documents, from resumes and cover letters to online portfolios, video resumes and professional websites. They can also answer common interview questions and share the recorded answers to get feedback and suggestions for improvement.
"This goes far beyond simple resume templates," said Rhonda Riley, head of technology at the library. "There are sample resumes for dozens of career fields and positions, lists of power words to spark ideas, the ability to easily create and edit your own documents and website and even options for staging mock interviews with your webcam. Our staff was blown away by the possibilities."

A second database now available to library cardholders is Morningstar Investment Research Center.
A valuable investing resource, the service is from Morningstar Inc., a leading provider of independent investment research, in North America, Europe, Australia, and Asia.

Christian County Library patrons interested in stocks and funds will have access to valuable Morningstar's premium information. This includes Morningstar analysts' independent opinion on 1,700 stocks, 2,200 mutual funds, and 300 exchange rated funds.

Morningstar Investment Research Center also offers accurate, up-to-date data on 35,000 stocks and funds, along with industry and market data. The database lets users build and test portfolio ideas online, and provides financial education through its Investing Classroom.

Both new databases and many others can be accessed through the research databases page on the Christian County Library website: You'll need a Christian County Library card to access them. Don't have a card? Bring a picture I.D. and proof of current address to the library to obtain one free. Call 581-2432 for more information.
