Spring Drawing by Friends of the Library

Friends of the Christian County Library Announce Drawing Winners

Jen Nelson and Brianna Makatchie are the winners of the Spring Basket drawing today, sponsored by the Friends of the Christian County Library (FOL).

Jen Nelson is a Certified Nurses’ Assistant at Century Pines in Ozark. She uses the library frequently for a source of books, magazines, and DVDs to share with her three year old son. Jen was quite surprised when told that she had won the basket, because she never wins anything. Jen is looking forward to the new libraries being built to have a bigger library. Jen stated, “Ozark is a great place to live.”

Brianna Makatchie is a sixth grade student at Upper Elementary in Ozark. Brianna said that she is “almost twelve years old” and considers herself to be a lucky person. She enjoys playing volleyball and softball. She sometimes likes to read, especially mysteries. Brianna’s family just moved to the area a year ago. Her grandmother, Dianne Makatchie, says that she has been taking Brianna and her sister to the library since they were old enough to attend story time. She thinks that it is a good idea to build new libraries because we need them and the central location will be closer to their home.

The Friends of the Library are giving away 13 baskets in 2010 to show appreciation to the patrons and promote use of the Christian County library, located on 4th Street in Ozark. Each basket is a $50 value and includes new books, sometimes candy, and other seasonal items. The next basket for Mother’s Day will be on display in the library by April 16th with the drawing taking place on May 7th.
